ACLS – detailed information
The ACLS Course (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) at Simulation Tirol takes place at our training center in Hall in Tirol, just a few minutes from Innsbruck, and is recognized as an emergency physician refresher course under §40 of the Austrian Medical Act. Over two days, physicians, emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses from across Tirol, Vorarlberg, Salzburg, Bavaria, and South Tyrol train according to current AHA and ERC guidelines.
The course focuses on algorithms for ventricular fibrillation, pulseless ventricular tachycardia, pulseless electrical activity (PEA), and asystole, as well as airway management (bag-mask ventilation, laryngeal mask, laryngeal tube, endotracheal intubation with and without video laryngoscope), IO access, and ROSC care. Stable and unstable bradycardias and tachycardias, AV blocks and pacing therapy, acute coronary syndrome, and stroke are all practiced hands-on using a real defibrillator and CPR feedback device on a Gaumard high-fidelity simulator.
Each course is conducted in small groups of no more than 8 participants, ensuring everyone gets multiple turns on the simulator and receives individual feedback. All instructors are active clinicians with AHA instructor certification and extensive experience in emergency medicine. The course concludes with both a written and practical examination and awards 18 DFP/CME credits.
Innsbruck, Hall in Tirol, and the entire Tyrolean Inn Valley are easily accessible by car (A12 motorway, exit Hall West) or by train (Hall in Tirol station). We can arrange a discounted hotel room at the neighboring Landgasthof Bogner upon request, ideal if you are traveling from Vienna, Linz, Graz, Munich, or Bolzano. Parking is free. Payment conveniently by invoice, 100% tax-deductible as continuing medical education.
